The Excellence of Brotherly Love

 "Behold, how good and pleasant it is
When brothers dwell in unity!
It is like the precious oil [of consecration] on the head,
Running down on the beard,
On the beard of Aaron,
Running down on the collar of his [priestly] robes [consecrating the whole body]!

The Alliance of Indian Ministries (AIM) was established with this passage as a catalyst of all we do: to gather Indian pastors and ministry leaders so that they have an opportunity to know each other in a deeper and more intimate level.

Rev Samuel Gift Stephen (Founder and Chairman of AIM/Senior Pastor of Smyrna Assembly), Canon Steven Asirvatham (Vice Chairman of AIM/Vicar of Parish of Christ Church) and Major Kunam (Salvation Army) met one afternoon for a time of prayer and discussion, and out of that humble gathering of three, the "Deomai Revival Oneness Prayer” (DROP) was born.

“Deomai” refers to a prayer born out of desperation for revival and through oneness. The acronym DROP was meant to serve as a reminder to all Indian pastors and ministry leaders to drop whatever they were doing and to gather for prayer and fellowship.

DROP has grown from a humble gathering of three to more than 70 pastors and ministry leaders. They gather on the second Tuesday of every month from 1–4 pm at various church locations for a time of lunch, fellowship and prayer. We encourage churches to host this prayer each month as others can understand their ministry better and pray for them more effectively.

Through DROP, we have seen greater friendships formed as well as togetherness among these pastors. Walls of misconceptions have been torn down and genuine brotherly love can be seen.

 If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. (1 John 4:20)

So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13)
