Dr Lew Yii Jen MBBS (S’pore), M Med (Family Medicine, S’pore), FCFPS (S’pore)
Yii Jen is a practicing family physician who obtained his Master of Medicine, Family Medicine from the National University of Singapore and is a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians, Singapore, FCFP(S). He has held senior positions in various health organisations, promoting comprehensive and integrated care of chronic health patients. He also obtained a Graduate Diploma in Acupuncture and Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies.
Ms Alice Tan Guong Khim MA (Counselling and Community Work), MBA, MA (Pastoral Studies), FCCA, ISCA
Alice is currently counselling at Care Corner Singapore and has previously completed counselling placements at the Farrer Park and Simei Care and Counselling Centre. She was also involved in rehabilitation programmes at the Hiding Place and Tamar Village Mercy Centre as part of her community work practicum. In the spirit of lifelong learning, and to equip herself in professional counselling, she picked up a Master of Arts in Counselling and Community Work as a second career.
In partnership with Asian Theological Seminary, offered under the Strategic Leader Development ATS Extension Programme (SLDC-AEP), the Certificate in Transformational Urban Leadership (C-TUL) is designed to give urban leaders the opportunity to complete a certificate programme that will enable them to make a difference in low-income communities.
Summary
With an emphasis on equipping for transformation, the programme combines community development-related skills centred around Biblical transformation. Students are exposed to the necessary theory components and will also be tested on those theories in an urban ministry context.
C-TUL will be offered to churches and NGOs alike for the benefit of their workers who are already in the ministry and have limitations to acquire formal seminary education degrees.
Each module runs for 16 hours and can be split into four 4-hour sessions or two 8-hour sessions. As this is a hands-on programme, lectures are kept to a minimum in favour of workshop activities.

Horng Yuan Saw, PhD | Registrar & Senior Trainer
Horng has served in more than 10 organisations in Malaysia, South Korea, and New Zealand for the past 20 years, which included universities, research institutes, faith-based and non-profit organisations, and community trusts. He has experience working with more than 20 leaders of different nationalities, engaged business stakeholders and partners, and provided leadership and training to people of different professions and age groups. He has delivered sessions and spoken in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, China, New Zealand, and Australia.

Cheng Yong works as a clinical psychologist with a local hospital after serving as an educator in the local education system for the past 30 years. In his clinical training, he worked with patients with anxiety, depression, and those coping with grief from loss, amongst other mental health conditions. His primary psychotherapy modalities are Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. He is also a graduate of the Asian Pastoral Institute, equipped with both practical and Biblical foundations to provide holistic pastoral care to those he leads in his church house group community.
Dr Matthew Lim DClinPsy, DPhil (Psychiatry), BSocSc (Hons)
Matthew has worked in inpatient and outpatient psychology services in London and Singapore and has over five years of experience supervising clinical psychology trainees. He serves as a lecturer in clinical psychology at a local university and has successfully published several academic papers in international peer-reviewed journals. He is a registered practitioner psychologist and clinical supervisor with the Singapore Psychological Society.

Rev Poon has been involved in Walk thru the Bible Ministry since 1988. Rev Poon had also served in four Presbyterian churches for over 40 years, but has since retired from full-time pastoral ministry. He is passionate about teaching and training, as well as coaching and mentoring emerging leaders.
Sower Institute for Biblical Discipleship, in partnership with Trauma Healing Institute (THI), aims to provide leadership and services to churches and organisations using God’s word to bring healing and restoration to trauma survivors.
THI’s trauma healing programme provides basic mental health concepts with a biblical framework, using Scripture passages and composite real-life stories to help traumatised people connect the teaching with their circumstances.
