Feature Article: Being A Witness for Christ

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19-20

In Pakistan, many are facing unprecedented conditions and going through tough times. The number of Christians was estimated to be about 1.6% of the population, which leaves them vulnerable to discrimination such as employment, where they are given menial jobs, and even experience violence. To make things worse, the COVID-19 pandemic has taken its toll on the nation, and its impact has made it a time of sorrow for many—loss of livelihoods and separation from their loved ones.

In spite of the challenges, The Pakistan Bible Society has remained resolute in reaching out to the people through its various ministries such as the literacy project, Bible competitions programmes, sport programmes, and other projects. This year, they are in the midst of translation and publishing works and hope to complete them as soon as possible.

As we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost, let us remember our unwavering brethren in Christ in Pakistan who have been empowered by the Holy Spirit to preach the Good News and serve others.
