Meeting Thailand Bible Society

On 1 September, the General Secretary had a Zoom meeting with Thailand Bible Society to explore future collaborations and discuss how the two Bible Societies could work more closely in the coming years.

Meeting with Care Corner Singapore Ltd

On 2 September, the General Secretary attended a meeting with Care Corner Singapore Ltd and its new CEO, Mr. Christian Chao, to explore collaborations for joint projects in community service.

MOM Holiday Experiential Programme

On 3 September, the General Secretary was invited by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) Assurance, Care and Engagement (ACE) Group as a panelist for the MOM Holiday Experiential Programme to share insights about the Migrant Workers Landscape. The Minister of State for Education and Manpower, Ms. Gan Siow Huang, was the Guest-of-Honour and one of the panelists for the session.

Thanksgiving Solemn Mass for the Appointment of His Eminence Cardinal William Goh

On 8 September, the General Secretary was invited to attend the Thanksgiving Solemn Mass for the appointment of His Eminence Cardinal William Goh to the Sacred College of Cardinals, held at St. Joseph’s Church.

International Conference on Communities of Success

On 9 and 10 September, the General Secretary was invited to attend the International Conference on Communities of Success (ICCOS) by the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS). The Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr. Lee Hsien Loong, graced the occasion as the Guest-of-Honour and gave the opening keynote address for the conference.

Meeting with the National Christian Evangelical Alliance of Sri Lanka

On 15 September, the General Secretary visited the National Christian Evangelical Alliance of Sri Lanka to discuss collaborations for projects to help the poor and vulnerable communities in Sri Lanka, and to explore future partnerships.

Visiting Ceylon Bible Society and Launch of 100 Steps Study Bible

On 16 September, the General Secretary visited Ceylon Bible Society at the Bible House in Colombo and was invited to share a Word from the Bible for devotion. He was also invited as a Chief Guest for the launch of the 100 Steps Family Bible, which was attended by the apex leaders of the churches in Sri Lanka.

Meeting with National Volunteer And Philanthropy Centre and Center For Nonprofit Leadership

On 20 September, the General Secretary met up with the National Volunteer And Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) and Center For Nonprofit Leadership to explore collaborations to provide resources for churches in Singapore to strengthen their Board Governance to serve their congregations better.

SATA CommHealth’s 75th Anniversary Dinner

On 13 August 2022, the General Secretary was invited to attend the SATA CommHealth’s 75th Anniversary Dinner. The Guest of Honour was the President of the Republic of Singapore, Mdm Halimah Yacob. SATA CommHealth is a partner of SowCare Ltd to provide medical services for the needy in churches and the community.

Singapore Bible College’s 70th Founder’s Day

On 19 August 2022, the General Secretary was invited as a guest speaker at Singapore Bible College’s 70th Founder’s Day.

Preaching at Shalom Baptist Church for Bible Society Sunday

On 28 August 2022, the General Secretary was invited to preach at Shalom Baptist Church for Bible Society Sunday. Pray that more people will understand the Bible Mission and commit to support its mission of making the Word of God known to all peoples.

Launch of the Alphabet Project

On 2 July 2022, the General Secretary attended the launch of The Alphabet Project, a new movement of Hope Initiative Alliance aimed to uplift young children from poverty by offering literacy programmes to build their confidence. The Senior Minister of State for National Development and Communications & Information, Mr Tan Kiat How, was the Guest of Honour.

Chinese Ministry Pastor's Fellowship

On 7 July 2022, the General Secretary attended the Chinese Ministry Pastors’ Fellowship organised by the Chinese Ministry of the Bible Society in conjunction with our 185th Anniversary to give thanks to God and to share about the future developments of the work of the Bible Mission.

Meeting with the Chinese Coordination Centre of World Evangelism 世界华福中心

On 28 July 2022, the General Secretary met up with Rev David Doong 董家骅牧师, General Secretary总干事 of the Chinese Coordination Centre of World Evangelism (CCCOWE, 世界华福中心) to explore partnership opportunities.

Radio Interview with REACH on 96.3好FM station

On 14 June, the General Secretary was invited to an interview with REACH on 96.3好FM on initiatives for homeless individuals and rough sleepers. Present during the interview were Ms Denise Phua, Mayor of Central Singapore Community Development Council (CDC), and Zechariah Heng from The New Charis Mission.

Bible Engagement Forum hosted by the British and Foreign Bible Society

From 9 to 12 June, the General Secretary attended the regional Bible Engagement Forum hosted by the British and Foreign Bible Society (BFBS) in Kuala Lumpur. The meeting was attended by other General Secretaries from other Bible Societies in Asia. The meeting discussed plans and strategies for Bible Engagement.

Meeting with Ms Jane Jelgerhuis and Mr James Catford

From 25 to 26 June, the General Secretary met up with Ms Jane Jelgerhuis and Mr James Catford to discuss strategies for global fundraising. Ms Jelgerhuis is the Executive Director for Global Philanthropy with the American Bible Society, while Mr Catford is the Global Patrons Ambassador with the British and Foreign Bible Society.

Hari Raya Puasa Celebration Event for Migrant Workers

On 3 May, the General Secretary attended the Hari Raya Puasa Celebration Event for migrant workers held at Tuas South Recreation Centre. The event was organised by Hope Initiative Alliance in partnership with the Ministry of Manpower. SowCare was also one of the partnering organisations. Minister for Manpower Dr Tan See Leng and Senior Minister of State for Manpower Dr Koh Poh Koon were guests of honour at the event. Nearly 7000 migrant workers attended the day’s series of activities.

Afternoon Tea with Mr Michael Oh and the Lausanne Movement

On 7 May, the General Secretary was invited to attend an afternoon tea session with Mr Michael Oh, Executive Director / CEO of the Lausanne Movement. Present at the meeting were also other Christian leaders.

IRO’s 73rd Anniversary Celebration

On 11 May, the General Secretary was invited to attend IRO’s 73rd Anniversary Celebration. Mr Edwin Tong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth & Second Minister for Law, was the Guest of Honour for the evening.

Meeting with Walk Thru The Bible (WTB)

On 12 May, the General Secretary met with Rev Gil Balignasay, Regional Director for WTB Southeast Asia/Pacific region, to discuss various upcoming events in Singapore in collaboration with the Bible Society’s Sower Institute for Biblical Discipleship.

Minister’s Hari Raya Get-Together 2022

On 13 May, the General Secretary was invited to attend the Minister’s Hari Raya Get-Together 2022 hosted by the Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs, Mr Masagos Zulkifli.

MSF PEERS Network Retreat

On 22 May, SowCare was invited to attend the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) Partners Engaging and Empowering Rough Sleepers (PEERS) Network Retreat for our role in partnering with the PEERS office to operate a Safe, Sound, Sleeping Place (S3P) @ Bible House. Other S3P and shelter operators were also invited to the retreat. A resident staying at Bible House was also invited to share how SowCare has taken care of him and other residents during their stay.

AEA Strategic Planning Meeting

On 24 and 25 May, the General Secretary attended the Asia Evangelical Alliance Strategic Planning Meeting held in Bali, Indonesia. He serves as the Secretary of the Executive Council and also serves as the Chairman of the Digital and Media Commission.

Inter-Religious Organisation (Singapore) (IRO) 6th Council Meeting

On 31 May, the General Secretary met with the General Manager and team from the Social Service Office (SSO) @ Woodlands and Sembawang to explore potential collaborations to benefit the underprivileged children and families in the Woodlands and Sembawang towns.

Inter-Religious Organisation (Singapore) (IRO) 6th Council Meeting

On 4 April, the General Secretary and the Bible House hosted the Inter-Religious Organisation (Singapore) (IRO) for their 6th Council Meeting at the Morrison-Liang Room.

In Conversation with the Commissioner of Charities and Charity Council

On 13 April 2022 the General Secretary was invited to attend the event, “In Conversation with the Commissioner of Charities and Charity Council” organised by the Charities Unit held at the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC). He was also invited to attend the pre-event networking session with the Commissioner of Charities and other dignitaries.

Tanjong Pagar GRC & Radin Mas SMC Buka Puasa Event

On 25 April, the Bible Society was invited to attend the Tanjong Pagar GRC & Radin Mas SMC Buka Puasa Event hosted by Henderson-Dawson Citizens’ Consultative Committee (CCC). Ms Joan Pereira was the Host Adviser amongst other GRC Advisers in attendance, such as Minister Chan Chun Sing and Minister Indranee.

World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) International Council (IC) Meeting

On 25 and 26 April the General Secretary attended the International Council (IC) Meeting of World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) held in Jerusalem, Israel. He is also the Special Envoy of WEA to China and Chinese territories.

WEA Meeting with President of Israel

On 28 April, as Member of the International Council of WEA, the General Secretary met up with the President of Israel, His Excellency Isaac Herzog, at his official residence.

Meeting with the Secretary General of the World Evangelical Alliance

On 11 March, the General Secretary met with the Secretary General of the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), Bishop Dr Thomas Schirrmacher, to explore collaborations in providing humanitarian aid to the refugees in the Ukrainian Crisis.

Meeting with SATA CommHealth

On 16 March, the General Secretary met with SATA CommHealth to explore deeper collaborations and strategic partnership in offering healthcare services.

Inter-Faith Passover Seder Hosted by the Jewish Welfare Board

On 30 March, the General Secretary was invited to attend an Inter-Faith Passover Seder hosted by the Jewish Welfare Board. The Minister for Community, Culture and Youth, Mr Edwin Tong, was the Guest-of-Honour.

Meeting with the Singapore Baptist Convention

On 31 March, the General Secretary met with the Chairman and Executive Director of the Singapore Baptist Convention, Rev Edwin Lam and Rev Dr Bobby Lee, to discuss collaborations for upcoming projects in 2022 and 2023.

On 8 February, the General Secretary was invited to celebrate Holy Communion at the Chinese New Year online prayer meeting organised by Prayer@Marketplace. The speaker for the event is Bishop Dr Titus Chung.

MCCY Engagement Session for Religious Leaders with Minister Edwin Tong

On 10 February, the General Secretary was invited to attend the MCCY Engagement Session for Religious Leaders hosted by the Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Mr Edwin Tong.

Meeting with Mr Paul Williams from the British and Foreign Bible Society

On 15 February, the General Secretary met up with Mr Paul Williams, the Chief Executive of the British and Foreign Bible Society (BFBS) to discuss about an upcoming Bible Engagement Forum hosted by BFBS.

On 16 February, the General Secretary met up with DBS Bank to explore collaboration opportunities to serve the migrant communities in Singapore and other beneficiaries.

On 16 February, the General Secretary met up with SATA CommHealth to explore collaboration opportunities to offer medical services for the elderly in churches, the migrant communities in Singapore, and other beneficiaries.

Meeting with MSF SSO in Bedok and Geylang Serai

On 23 February, the General Secretary met with the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) Social Service Offices (SSOs) @ Bedok and Geylang Serai to explore collaboration opportunities to offer English literacy programmes and story-writing competition for young children in low-income families.

Meeting with Leaders of Marketplace Movements in Singapore

On 23 February, the General Secretary met up with the leaders of various marketplace movements in Singapore to share about Bible Missions and global ministries.

IRCC Chairmen Networking 2022

On 24 February, the Bible House hosted the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) and the Chairmen of Inter-Racial and Religious Confidence Circles (IRCCs) at the Pavillion of the Nation's for the IRCC Chairmen Networking 2022 organised by MCCY. The General Secretary was also in attendance.

Meeting with MSF PEERS Office

On 28 February, the General Secretary met with the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) Partners Engaging and Empowering Rough Sleepers (PEERS) Office to discuss about an upcoming PEERS Network Retreat organised by the PEERS Office.

Meeting with Foreign Domestic Worker Association for Social Support and Training and International Labour Organization

On 6 January, the General Secretary met with the Foreign Domestic Worker Association for Social Support and Training (FAST) and other partners such as International Labour Organization to discuss possible collaboration in offering financial literacy training for migrant domestic workers.

Meeting with Philippine Bible Society

On 19 January, the General Secretary met up with the General Secretary of Philippine Bible Society, Ms Perry Cartera, to explore ways to render help in missions and humanitarian relief for the people in Philippines affected by the Asian monsoon floods.

Meeting with Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches and Philippine Relief and Development Services

On 21 January, the General Secretary met up with Bishop Noel Alba Pantoja, who is the National Director of Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC) and the President of Philippine Relief and Development Services (PHILRADS), to explore ways to render help in missions and humanitarian relief for the people in Philippines affected by the Asian monsoon floods.

Launch of Alliance of Domestic Employees Outreach

On 12 December 2021, the General Secretary attended the launch of the Alliance of Domestic Employees Outreach (ADEO), a movement of Hope Initiative Alliance to provide holistic care to the migrant domestic workers in Singapore. SowCare, the community service arm of The Bible Society of Singapore, is a founding member of ADEO. The Minister of State for Manpower, Ms Gan Siow Huang, graced the occasion as the Guest-of-Honour.

Friends of ACE (FACE) Partner Award 2021

On 18 December 2021, the General Secretary was invited to attend the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) Friends of ACE (FACE) Partner Award 2021. The event is hosted by the Minister for Manpower, Dr Tan See Leng.

Official Launch of hash.peace & Inaugural Year-End Forum

On 20 December 2021, the General Secretary was invited to attend the Launch of hash.peace and Inaugural Year-End Forum. The Guest-of-Honour for the event is the Minister for Culture, Community and Youth & Second Minister for Law, Mr Edwin Tong.

Deepavali Carnival and Launch of Religious Services at Tuas South Recreation for Migrant Workers

On 7 November, the General Secretary attended the Alliance of Guest Workers Outreach (AGWO) Deepavali Carnival and Launch of Religious Services event at Tuas South Recreation Centre. The Senior Minister of State for Manpower, Mr Zaqy Mohamad, was the Guest-of-Honour. The event was to launch Christian, Hindu, and Muslim services for migrant workers at Tuas South Recreation Centre.

 

Meeting with The Salvation Army, Singapore

On 18 November, the General Secretary met with the Territorial Commander, Colonel Rodney Walters, and other leaders of The Salvation Army, Singapore for fellowship and to discuss areas for collaboration and partnerships.

 

Speaking Engagement for Myanmar Evangelical Christian Alliance Monthly Worship Service

On 19 November, the General Secretary was invited as a speaker at the Monthly Worship Service of the Myanmar Evangelical Christian Alliance, attended by various Pastors in Myanmar. The service was conducted via Zoom.

 

1st Migrant Domestic Workers & Employer Appreciation Day

On 21 November 2021, the General Secretary, as their project committee member, was invited to attend the Foreign Domestic Worker Association for Social Support and Training (FAST) 1st Migrant Domestic Workers & Employer Appreciation Day. The Minister of State for Manpower, Ms Gan Siow Huang, was the Guest-of-Honour. The Minister for Culture, Community, and Youth was also present as the Special Guest.

 

Speaking Engagement at Evangelical Free Church of Singapore (EFCS) Monthly Association Fellowship

On 24 November, the General Secretary was invited to share a devotion at the Evangelical Free Church of Singapore (EFCS) Monthly Association Fellowship attended by many EFCS Pastors.

On 31 October, the General Secretary was invited to preach at Kum Yan Methodist Church for Bible Society Sunday. A sermon from the General Secretary, recorded in Mandarin, was played during their two Sunday service. Meeting with the Archdiocesan Commission for the Pastoral Care of Migrants & Itinerant People (ACMI)

On 13 October, the General Secretary met up with the Archdiocesan Commission for the Pastoral Care of Migrants & Itinerant People (ACMI) via Zoom. The Chairman, Mr Raymundo Yu, Executive Director, Mr Jacob Yu, and the Board Member for Pastoral and Formation, Ms Anita Tan, were present for the meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss possible outreach collaboration for the migrant workers.

World Evangelical Alliance Consultation with Singapore Christian Leaders

On 26 and 28 October, The Bible Society of Singapore and Evangelical Alliance of Singapore hosted two hybrid meetings between the top influential Christian leaders in Singapore in ministry, mission, and marketplace, with the leadership of World Evangelical Alliance (WEA). WEA Leaders present include Bishop Dr Thomas Schirrmacher, the Secretary General, Rev Dr Brian Winslade, the Deputy Secretary General for Ministries, and Dr Peirong Lin, the Deputy Secretary General for Operations who is a Singaporean based in Germany.

On 9 September, the General Secretary met up with leaders of the Singapore Baptist Convention to discuss possible collaborations in the area of social and community care.

On 10 September, the General Secretary was invited to preach at the 40th Anniversary Event of Care Corner Singapore Ltd. The General Secretary is currently also a Director and Board Secretary of Care Corner Singapore Ltd.

Partnership with the Embassy of Israel in Singapore to organise Colours of the Bible

On 23 September, the General Secretary attended the Colours of the Bible Post-Event at the Bible House. This year, we partnered with the Embassy of Israel in Singapore to organise Colours of the Bible for the 8th Year running. The Ambassador, His Excellency Mr Sagi Karni, also attended the Post-Event.

 

Meeting with the Chief Rabbi of the Jewish Community

On 24 September, the General Secretary met up with the Chief Rabbi of the Jewish Community in Singapore at the Jacob Ballas Center during the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles.

 

Meeting with Rev Vijayesh Lal, General Secretary of the Evangelical Fellowship of India

On 27 September, the General Secretary met up with Rev Vijayesh Lal, General Secretary of the Evangelical Fellowship of India, to discuss how we could collaborate to provide COVID-19 relief for the marginalised communities in India.

MOM Youth Dialogue at Dunman High School 

On 13 August, the General Secretary was invited by the Ministery of Manpower as a guest speaker for the MOM Youth Dialogue at Dunman High School via Zoom. During the dialogue, he shared about how youths could be involved alongside the government and non-profit organisations to serve the migrant workers and domestic employees.

 

NCCS' National Day Thanksgiving Service

On 19 August, the General Secretary was invited to attend the National Day Thanksgiving Service 2021 organised by the National Council of Churches of Singapore at St. Andrew's Cathedral. The service was to celebrate our nation's 56th National Day with a time of worship and prayer.

 

Meeting with EFC Leaders

On 23 August, the General Secretary had a Zoom meeting with the leadership from the Evangelical Fellowship of Cambodia to discuss further collaborations after our last project to provide relief support to victims of floods and COVID-19 in Cambodia.

 

72nd Inter-Religious Organisation (IRO) Day

On 26 August, the General Secretary was invited to attend the Inter-Religious Organisation (IRO) Day and 72nd Anniversary in person. Mr Heng Swee Keat, Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies, was the Guest-of-Honour. Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, Patron of IRO, and Ms Low Yen Ling, Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth & Trade and Industry, were also present during the event.

 

2nd Anniversary virtual event of the Partners Engaging and Empowering Rough Sleepers (PEERS) network 

On 26 August, SowCare, the social service arm of The Bible Society of Singapore, was invited to attend the 2nd Anniversary virtual event of the Partners Engaging and Empowering Rough Sleepers (PEERS) network of the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF). SowCare has been a partner of PEERS since 2020. The Minister for National Development & Minister-in-charge of Social Services Integration, Mr Desmond Lee, was the Guest-of-Honour.

On 18 July 2021, the General Secretary was invited to preach at Kampong Kapor Methodist Church for Bible Society Sunday at their 8am and 10am services. Tackling Homelessness: Sharing on Partners Engaging and Empowering Rough Sleepers (PEERS) Network 

On 19 July 2021, the General Secretary was invited by the Partners Engaging and Empowering Rough Sleepers (PEERS) office of the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) as one of the guest speakers to share about efforts in tackling homelessness and partnerships with the community. The dialogue was organised by the Civil Service College for public officers.

 

Census 2020, Religions and Youth: Parsing the Trends, Pondering the Future - Part One

On 19 July 2021, the Bible Society of Singapore hosted a forum to exchange insights from scholars and senior leaders from the church and community on religions and the youth. The forum was organised by the Evangelical Alliance of Singapore and co-organised by the Fellowship of Evangelical Students and Graduates' Christian Fellowship. Dr Mathew  Mathews, a social researcher at a local University, was the keynote speaker for the event.

 

Meeting with the General Secretary of the Bible-Presbyterian Church in Singapore Presbytery

On 28 July 2021, the General Secretary met up with Rev Dr David Wong, the General Secretary of the Bible-Presbyterian Church in Singapore, to foster relations and discuss possible partnerships.

Meeting with the Executive Director of Singapore Baptist Convention

On 8 June, the General Secretary met up with Rev Dr Bobby Lee, the Executive Director of Singapore Baptist Convention, at the Bible House to foster good relations between the Bible Society and the Baptist community in Singapore.

Meeting with the Principal of Singapore Bible College

On 9 June, the General Secretary met up with Rev Dr Clement Chia, the Principal of Singapore Bible College, at the Bible House to build relations and discuss possible collaboration.

Meeting with the Bishop of the Diocese of Singapore

On 10 June, the General Secretary met up with Bishop Dr Titus Chung, the Bishop of the Diocese of Singapore, virtually via Zoom to foster good relations between the Bible Society and the Anglican community in Singapore.

Meeting with Toa Payoh Methodist Church

On 13 June, the General Secretary was invited to preach at Toa Payoh Methodist Church for Bible Society Sunday. A sermon from the General Secretary, recorded in Mandarin, was played during their Sunday service. Hari Raya Puasa Celebration for Guest Workers

On 13 May, the General Secretary attended a Hari Raya Puasa event where 2,600 festive meals and gifts were distributed to guest workers from 30 factory-converted dormitories. Mr Tung Yui Fai, Chief of the Assurance, Care & Engagement (ACE) Group of the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), and Ustaz Dr Mohammad Hannan Hassan, Deputy Mufti of MUIS, were also present at the event.

Meeting with Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS)

On 21 May, the General Secretary met with Ustaz Dr Mohammad Hannan Hassan, Deputy Mufti of MUIS, and other leaders to discuss about possible interfaith dialogue and collaboration.

Meeting with China Christian Council

On 26 May, the President and General Secretary met up with Rev Wu Wei, President of China Christian Council (CCC), and Rev Shan Weixiang, Vice-President and General Secretary of CCC, to foster relations between the Christians in Singapore and China. Launch of SowCare Together

On 3 April, the General Secretary attended the launch of SowCare Together, an interfaith initiative to rally young people of various faiths to do good together. Our social service arm, SowCare, is one of the core organisers. The Minister of State for Culture, Community, & Youth and Trade & Industry, Mr Alvin Tan, launched the event as the Guest-of-Honour. Easter Sunday Service at Tuas South Recreation Centre for Guest Workers

On 4 April, the General Secretary spoke at the Easter Sunday service at Tuas South Recreation Centre for the guest workers.

Christian Resource Sharing Workshop

From 7 to 8 April, the General Secretary attended the Christian Resource Sharing Workshop organised by Far East Organization, held at Revelry Hall, Events Centre, Sentosa. During the workshop, leaders from different organisations shared ideas and opportunities for collaboration with one another.

ETHOS Seminar 2021: Church & Society in Pandemic Times: An Evening with Minister Lawrence Wong

On 22 April, the ETHOS Seminar 2021 was held virtually via Zoom. The guest speaker for the evening was Minister Lawrence Wong, the Co-Chairperson of the Multi-Ministry Taskforce on COVID-19. The topic for the evening was Church and Society in Pandemic Times.

Commissioning Service of the Fellowship of Evangelical Students (FES) General Secretary and Graduates' Christian Fellowship (GCF) Graduate Secretary

On 24 April, the General Secretary was invited to attend the joint Commissioning Service of the FES General Secretary and GCF Graduate Secretary held at St Andrew's Cathedral. Mr Jeremiah Goh took over the role of FES General Secretary and Mr Michael Kang took over the role of GCF Graduate Secretary, from Mr Lisman Komaladi.

Asia Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) Roundtable

From 29 to 30 April, the General Secretary attended the Asia FoRB Roundtable via Zoom, jointly organised by Asia Evangelical Alliance and the Alliance Defending Freedom. During the sessions, participants shared ideas and resources on promoting FoRB in Asia.

Appointment as a Member-at-Large (Asia) in the International Council of the World Evangelical Alliance

On 1 March, the General Secretary was appointed by the International Council of the World Evangelical Alliance as a Member-at-Large in the International Council, representing the region of Asia.

Special meeting with the Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General of World Evangelical Alliance

On 25 March, the General Secretary had a Zoom call with Prof Dr Thomas Schirrmacher and Dr Peirong Lin, the Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General of World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) respectively. The General Secretary has been appointed as an Ambassador of WEA to China and Chinese territories.

APEX Leaders' Fellowship

On 26 March, The Bible Society of Singapore hosted the APEX Leaders' Fellowship, a regular gathering of top Christian Leaders from the Evangelical Alliance of Singapore, the National Council of Churches of Singapore, LoveSingapore, and the Alliance of Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches in Singapore at the Bible House rooftop pavilion. The session focused on how churches could collaborate together in reaching out to the marginalised, minority language groups, and the migrant workers.

Asia Evangelical Alliance Special Prayer Meeting for Myanmar

On 31 March, the General Secretary was one of the prayer leaders for a special prayer meeting for Myanmar organised by Asia Evangelical Alliance.

Appointment as the Secretary of Executive Council and Chair of Digital & Media Commission in the Asia Evangelical Alliance

On 5 February, during the meeting of the Asia Evangelical Alliance Executive Council, the General Secretary was elected as the Secretary of the Executive Council and appointed as Chair of Digital & Media Commission.

Spring Festival Dinner with Rough Sleepers from S3P@Bible House

On 9 February, the General Secretary hosted a Spring Festival Dinner for the rough sleepers residing at S3P@Bible House. The dinner was joined by 7 rough sleepers as well as colleagues involved in the rough sleepers ministry work.

 

World Evangelical Alliance Handover Ceremony

On 27 February, the General Secretary attended the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) Handover Ceremony to witness the handover of leadership in WEA. Dr Lawrence Chia, a member of the Board of The Bible Society of Singapore and Chairman of the Evangelical Alliance of Singapore, was also invited, and he prayed for the incoming Deputy Secretary-General during the ceremony.

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2021

On 25 January, The Bible Society of Singapore hosted a service for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2021, organised by the Archdiocesan Catholic Council for Ecumenical Dialogue (ACCED). Held at the Pavilion of the Nations at Bible House, the event was also live-streamed with various ordained ministers from different denominations leading various liturgical segments. Bishop Terry Kee delivered the sermon for the service.

MSF Volunteer and Partner Award

On 27 January, SowCare—the social service arm of The Bible Society of Singapore—was awarded the MSF Volunteer and Partner Award in the Community Cares Award category. The General Secretary was invited to attend the virtual ceremony hosted by Mr Masagos Zulkifli, Minister for Social and Family Development and Second Minister for Health, to receive the award.

HIA Appreciation Ceremony 2020

On 27 January, the General Secretary attended the Hope Initiative Alliance Appreciation Ceremony 2020 held to appreciate key partners, donors, and volunteers who have contributed towards HIA's community service efforts in 2020. SowCare is one of the core partners of HIA. The Guest-of-Honour was Mr Zaqy Mohamad, Senior Minister of State for Defence and Manpower.

Episcopal Consecration Service for Bishop Rev Dr Gordon Wong

On 4 December, the General Secretary was invited to attend the Episcopal Consecration Service for Rev Dr Gordon Wong to witness his consecration as the Bishop of the Methodist Church in Singapore, succeeding Rev Dr Chong Chin Chung. We thank Rev Dr Chong for his faithful service over the past four years and pray for the continued flourishing of the Methodist Church under Bishop Wong’s leadership.

Interfaith Sharing on Giving & Being Other-Centered

On 7 December, the General Secretary was invited to attend the Interfaith Sharing on Giving & Being Other-Centered, hosted by the National Volunteer And Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) and Inter-Religious Organisation, Singapore (IRO). During the session, the General Secretary shared about the Christian motivation for loving and caring for others.

Preaching at Diakonia Fellowship 4th Anniversary Service

On 13 December, the General Secretary was invited to preach at the 4th Anniversary Service of Diakonia Fellowship, held at the Lee Kong Chian Auditorium, YMCA Orchard. The General Secretary shared from 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 on the topic of “Fulfilling the Calling of God.”

NVPC Future of Giving 2030 Workshop

On 14 December, the General Secretary was invited by the National Volunteer And Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) to participate in the Future of Giving 2030 Workshop. During the session, he shared how the Singapore society could change over the next decade and how these changes could impact charitable giving.

MSF PEERS Network Year-end Event

On 14 December, the General Secretary attended a year-end event organised by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) for its Partners Engaging and Empowering Rough Sleepers (PEERS) Network partners. During the event, SowCare—the social services arm of The Bible Society of Singapore—was acknowledged for our contributions towards enabling rough sleepers to find temporary shelter, especially during the Circuit Breaker period. The General Secretary received a partnership certificate on behalf of SowCare as its CEO, and Hope Initiative Alliance as its President.

AGWO International Migrants Day and Christmas Celebration Launch Event

On 17 December, the General Secretary attended the launch ceremony of a series of International Migrants Day and Christmas celebrations from 17 December to 26 December. The event kickstarted more than a week-long celebration in various factory-converted dormitories (FCDs), which included meal and goodies distribution, Christmas decorations, setting up of booths across multiple recreation centres, and a nation-wide prize draw. Mr Tung Yui Fai, Chief of the Assurance, Care & Engagement (ACE) Group of the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), was present at the event.

SowCare Christmas Celebration for Rough Sleepers

On 19 December, SowCare organised a Christmas Celebration programme held at the Bible House for about 15 rough sleepers from all over Singapore. The guest-of-honour, Mr Alvin Tan, Minister of State for Culture, Community & Youth and Trade & Industry was received by the General Secretary. Mr Lee Kim Hua, Senior Director for the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) Partners Engaging and Empowering Rough Sleepers (PEERS) office, was also present.

On 25 December, the General Secretary was invited to preach at New Life Church, where he shared a Christmas message.

Meeting with Chief of Assurance, Care & Engagement Group, Ministry of Manpower

On 28 December, the General Secretary met up with Mr Tung Yui Fai, the Chief of Assurance, Care & Engagement Group, Ministry of Manpower as the CEO of SowCare and the President of Hope Initiative Alliance. During the meeting, they discussed plans to continue serving the migrant workers moving forward in 2021.

SHARING AT ASIA EVANGELICAL ALLIANCE

On 17 and 18 Nov, the General Secretary was invited to share at the general assembly of Asia Evangelical Alliance (AEA). He was also elected as a member of the executive committee of AEA.

APEX LEADERS FELLOWSHIP

The APEX Leaders Fellowship was held on 2 Nov, where senior pastors and leaders from the Evangelical Alliance of Singapore, National Council of Churches of Singapore and Love
Singapore gathered. The Alliance of Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches of Singapore (APCCS) was also invited to participate in the fellowship and discussion.

Meeting with Heart of God Church

On 12 November 2020, the General Secretary met with Pastor Tan Seow How, Senior Pastor of Heart of God Church, and some leadership team members to discuss ideas and potential opportunities for collaboration in engaging the younger generations.

Preaching at Kum Yan Methodist Church for Bible Society Sunday

On 22 November, the General Secretary was invited to preach at Kum Yan Methodist Church. A sermon from the General Secretary, recorded in Mandarin and Cantonese, was played during their Sunday service to observe Bible Society Sunday. Pray that more people will understand the Bible Mission and commit to support its mission of making the Word of God known to all peoples.

Trinity Annual Conference

The General Secretary attended the 45th Session of the Trinity Annual Conference (TRAC) of the Methodist Church in Singapore via Zoom on 25 November 2020. During the session, he made a presentation on The Bible Society of Singapore's Bible Mission work in 2020.

MOM Appreciation Event

HIA-AGWO -- a key partner of SowCare, the charity arm of The Bible Society of Singapore -- is humbled to have been a part of a virtual appreciation event by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) on 21 October. The General Secretary is also the President of Hope Initiative Alliance. Minister for Manpower, Mrs Josephine Teo; Second Minister for Manpower and Trade and Industry, Mr Tan See Leng and Senior Minister of State for Manpower and Defence, Mr Zaqy Mohamad also took the opportunity to thank MOM's NGO partners, who have worked with them to help guest workers during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

On 1 September, the General Secretary met with the new Principal of Trinity Theological College, Rev Edwin Tay to congratulate him and to build rapport and partnership.

On 3 September, the General Secretary met with Rev Dr Bobby Lee, Executive Director of Singapore Baptist Convention and other Pastors at the SowerHub to discuss potential collaborations in Bible mission and charitable projects.

On 8 September, the General Secretary met with the the Senior Director of the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), Mr Lim Kim Hua regarding partnership with MSF for S3P and SowCare’s new homeless shelter.

On 9 September, the General Secretary met with Dato Desmond Lim, Founder of Dedicated Locals' Caring Community at the SowerHub to discuss on collaborations in charitable initiatives.

The General Secretary is also the Executive Director of ETHOS Institute. On 4 September, he met with the new ETHOS Institute Steering Committee and discussed plans for future initiatives. BSS 183rd Anniversary Events

On 2, 8 and 9 July, The Bible Society of Singapore held three Zoom sessions as part of the 183rd anniversary celebrations. The session on 2 July was the Missions tract, whereby leaders of the Bible Societies in Bangladesh, Mongolia, Arab-Israeli and Peru shared about Bible Mission work in their countries. The sessions on 8 and 9 July were the Chinese and Tamil Language tracts, where leaders from churches in Singapore, China and India shared about caring for their congregations amidst COVID-19. Over 500 people joined in across the three sessions.

Sharing at Evangelical Free Church of Singapore

On 29 July, the General Secretary was invited to share at the Evangelical Free Church of Singapore (EFCS)’s Monthly Association gathering, a time for pastors of EFCS to engage in fellowship with one another. He gave a short sharing about his heart for Bible Mission work in Singapore and in the region.

Meeting with Faith Comes By Hearing

On 31 July, the General Secretary met with representatives from Faith Comes By Hearing, an organisation that records and provides the Bible in different languages. The General Secretary shared about the Bible movement in Singapore, and they discussed plans for future partnerships and collaborations.

Preaching at Fairfield Methodist Church

On 27 September, the General Secretary was invited to preach at Fairfield Methodist Church. A recorded sermon from the General Secretary was played during their Sunday service as part of observing Bible Society Sunday. Pray that more people will understand the Bible Mission and its purpose, as well as its mission of making the Word of God known to all peoples.

The Bible Society of Singapore’s 183rd Anniversary Celebration

The Bible Society of Singapore commemorated its 183rd anniversary by organising a four-part special Zoom session. The inaugural session began on 24 June with the Leadership Track—Faith Conversations on Servant Leadership—with Speaker of Parliament, Mr Tan Chuan-Jin as the guest speaker. Over 500 people signed up for the session on Zoom, while over 4,000 people joined the session via Facebook live. We would like to thank Mr Tan Chuan-Jin for gracing the occasion, as well as all who joined us for the session.

Meal Distribution Exercise for Guest Workers 

On 23 and 24 May, Rev Ezekiel Tan, CEO of SowCare was present at a distribution exercise for 7,000 guest workers in 110 dormitories. On top of meals, other items such as new sarongs and festive treats were also provided for the guest workers hailing from Muslim and other religious backgrounds.

Distribution of Festive Care Packs to Guest Workers 

On 7 May, SowCare, the charity arm of The Bible Society of Singapore was involved in the distribution of Festive Care Packs to 260 factory-converted dormitories all over Singapore. This distribution exercise provided 12,000 guest workers with meals and other essential supplies. More than 300 volunteers came together to take part in this initiative as packers and drivers.

Meeting with Ministry of Social and Family Development 

On 14 April, SowCare met with Mr Lee Kim Hua, Senior Director of the Ministry of Social and Family Development to discuss the setting up of S3P—Safe Sound Sleeping Places—a shelter for rough sleepers at Bible House, as well as future plans to open a homeless shelter that provides integrated care.

Social Service Leaders' Prayer Meeting

On 6 March, the Social Service Leaders' Prayer Meeting was held at Bible House. About 40 social service leaders from the various social service sectors attended the meeting. Bishop Terry Kee, President of the National Council of Churches of Singapore gave a sharing at the meeting.

SG United Amidst Adversity

On 26 March, SowCare, the charity arm of The Bible Society of Singapore, co-organised SG United Amidst Adversity together with Hope Initiative Alliance—an initiative to distribute over 5,000 care packs containing surgical masks, hand sanitisers and food items to beneficiaries from over 50 partner charities. The launch of the initiative was held at the Ahava Auditorium at TSL 101.

Distribution of Encouragement Cards

On 2 and 3 April, The Bible Society of Singapore staff distributed over 1,000 encouragement cards to frontliners at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and National University Hospital (NUH) to thank them for their dedication to fighting COVID-19 in Singapore. We pray for the protection for all medical staff and their staff during this period.

MoU Signing with Thunderquote 

On 11 February, the General Secretary signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Executive Director of ThunderQuote, Mr Kevin Ng. The MoU was to launch a platform to encourage good stewardship among churches through the streamlining of procurement services.

Hainan Pastor's Retreat 

From 14 to 15 January, the General Secretary was invited to attend the inaugural senior pastor’s retreat in Hainan as the Guest Speaker. During the retreat, the pastors also celebrated Holy Communion.

Social Service Leaders Fellowship

On 17 January, the General Secretary attended the Social Service Leaders Fellowship at Grace Assembly of God. About 40 leaders attended the session to engage in a time of fellowship and prayer.

Archdiocesan Inter-religious Christmas Celebration 2019

On 26 December, the General Secretary of The Bible Society of Singapore was invited to attend the Archdiocesan Inter-religious Christmas celebration at St Joseph's Church. Many delegates from the various religious groups in Singapore came together to experience the Christmas season and have meaningful dialogues.

The Feasts of Appreciation for Guest Workers

On 8 and 15 December, SowCare, a new charity arm of The Bible Society of Singapore hosted two Feasts of Appreciation for the guest workers at TSL Holdings and Bible House. The Feasts of Appreciation were to thank the guest workers in the construction industry, as well as the Foreign Domestic Workers (FDWs) for their hard work.

World Evangelical Alliance General Assembly 2019

The General Secretary attended the World Evangelical Alliance General Assembly in Jakarta from 7 to 9 November. The theme of this year’s assembly was Your Kingdom Come, with a focus on how the global Church can come together to advance His kingdom.

200 Millionth Bible Celebration in Nanjing

From 10 to 13 November, the General Secretary was invited by Amity Printing Press to attend the celebration of the 200th millionth Bible printed in China. Over 200 leaders of various Christian organisations and Bible Societies attended the celebration. May God continue to bless the work of Amity Printing Press to make His Word available to all.

Meeting with Mr Oldi Morava and Mr Tim Foggin

 On 25 November, the General Secretary met with Mr Oldi Morava and Mr Tim Foggin from the British and Foreign Bible Society. They discussed potential opportunities for collaboration to further Bible Mission in Singapore and in the region.

Sowers-In-Action Year End Gathering

 On 26 November, the Sowers-In-Action Year End gathering was held at Bible House to thank our volunteers for their faithfulness in serving the Bible Mission. About 35 volunteers attended the gathering to give thanks for God’s provision throughout the year, and to engage in a time of corporate worship.

Sharing at Evangelical Free Church of Singapore

 On 27 November, the General Secretary was invited to give a sharing at the Evangelical Free Church of Singapore’s pastors gathering. During the meeting, he gave an update of The Bible Society of Singapore’s Bible Mission work in various countries.

Meeting with Institute for Biblical Languages and Translation (IBLT)

The General Secretary met with Dr David Swarr from the Institute for Biblical Languages and Translation (IBLT)—a Hebrew language school based in Israel—on 21 October. They discussed collaboration possibilities for a Biblical Hebrew Course in Singapore in partnership with the Sower Institute for Biblical Discipleship.

Meeting with David Pawson Ministries

On 23 October, the General Secretary had a meeting with Mr Steve Dally from David Pawson Ministries. They established a partnership for the translation and publishing of David Pawson’s publications. We pray that this meeting will enable The Bible Society of Singapore to bless more communities with Scripture material for their edification.

Defending the Truth: Unmasking Eastern Lightning

The Bible Society of Singapore hosted a panel session at Bible House on 29 October to raise awareness on a heretical Chinese cult—known as Eastern Lightning (东方闪电)—propagating violence against the Chinese Christian community. The General Secretary was also one of the panelists. The event also marked the launch of a brand-new publication, Unveiling the Truth Behind Eastern Lightning—A New Perspective on the Church of Almighty God.

Meeting with the Bible Society of South Africa

On 1 November, The Bible Society of Singapore (BSS) had a meeting with Mission Programmes staff from the Bible Society of South Africa. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss how they could adapt some of BSS’ Scripture Engagement materials to reach out to the Christian community in South Africa.

IRO Special Trip to China

 From 2 to 6 September, the General Secretary of The Bible Society of Singapore organised and facilitated a trip for 20 delegates from the Interreligious Organisation (IRO) Singapore to meet with religious leaders in China. The trip was an opportunity for leaders on both sides to build relationships with one another, and discuss ways to improve religious harmony in their respective contexts.

Launch of Walking In Your Shoes 

 On 19 September, the General Secretary attended the launch of Walking In Your Shoes Exhibition at Far East Plaza. Organised by the Alliance of Guest Workers Outreach (AGWO), Walking In Your Shoes aims to appreciate the guest workers for their hard work, and allow the public to get a glimpse of their lives. Mr Zaqy Mohamad, Minister of State in the Ministry of National Development and the Ministry of Manpower was also present at the launch as the Guest of Honour, as well as Mrs Dorothy Ng-Chan, Executive Director of Far East Organization.

Sharing at Mount Carmel Bible Presbyterian Church

 The General Secretary was invited to attend Mount Carmel Bible Presbyterian Church’s Inaugural Annual Presbytery Meeting on 21 September. During the meeting, he gave a sharing about The Bible Society of Singapore’s mission work in China.

D6 Family Conference in Hainan, China

On 2 and 3 August, the General Secretary attended the D6 Family Conference in Hainan, China, which aims to equip participants for family ministry. The keynote speaker of the conference was Dr Ron Hunter Jr. There were about 100 Chinese Christians that attended the conference.

Meeting with Compassion International

On 13 August, the General Secretary met with Compassion International, a child-advocacy ministry. We pray that this meeting will open future opportunities for partnerships and collaborations to serve His people.

Social Service Leaders Prayer Meeting

On 11 July, the General Secretary attended the Social Service Leaders’ Prayer Meeting at the Bible House’s Pavilion of the Nations. Various CEOs, Executive Directors and Management Team members from about 20 voluntary welfare organisations attended the meeting.

Launch of ‘The Invisibles’ Exhibition

On 14 July, the General Secretary attended the launch of ‘The Invisibles’ Exhibition at Far East Plaza. an exhibition about mental health wellness. Mr Christopher De Souza, Member of Parliament for Holland-Bukit Timah GRC, was the Guest of Honour for the launch. Mrs Dorothy Chan, Executive Director of Far East Organization was also present at the launch.

APCCS Pastors’ Luncheon

On 15 July, the General Secretary attended a fellowship luncheon organised by the Alliance of Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches in Singapore (APCCS) at Flutes, located at the National Museum of Singapore. The purpose of the meeting was for the alliance to discuss and set their vision for the year ahead. Over 70 pastors from various churches and parachurch organisations were present at the meeting.

COH Thanksgiving Tea for Steering Committee

 On 15 July, a thanksgiving tea for the Celebration of Hope (COH) Steering Committee was organised to give thanks for this year’s Celebration of Hope rallies. The General Secretary was present at the tea, having served in the steering committee as treasurer.

Meeting with Taiwan ORTV

On 19 July, the General Secretary met up with the Executive Director of Overseas Radio and Television Inc. (ORTV), Dr Daniel Hsieh. They discussed future opportunities for partnerships and collaborations.

UBS Asia Pacific Catholic Affinity Group Meeting

From 23 to 24 July, The Bible Society of Singapore was invited to attend the UBS Asia Pacific Group Meeting in Kuching, Malaysia. The meeting was an opportunity for members of the Asia Pacific group to discuss how to build relationships and establish partnerships with the Catholic community in the region.

Farewell for Ms Simona Halperin at Embassy of Israel

The General Secretary attended a farewell cocktail for Ms Simona Halperin, Ambassador of Israel to Singapore, held at the Embassy of Israel on 24 July. Dr Bill Foo, Chairman of the Singapore Israel Business Circle, was also present at the event.

Bible Society Sunday

On 9 and 30 June, the General Secretary preached at Paya Lebar Methodist Church and Kampong Kapor Methodist Church for Bible Society Sunday, where he shared about the Bible Mission and the work of The Bible Society of Singapore. We pray that this partnership with the Methodist churches in Singapore will bear fruit for the Bible Mission.

UBS Mission Roundtable Exchange in Greece

The General Secretary visited Greece for the UBS Mission Roundtable Exchange 2019 from 16 to 22 June. Representatives from over 100 countries were present at the exchange. During the meeting, he shared about The Bible Society of Singapore’s Scripture Engagement initiatives and programmes, as well as about her role as a Mission Resource Centre for Bible Societies globally since 2017.

Celebration of Hope

The General Secretary was actively involved in the recently concluded Celebration of Hope—a nationwide outreach event held at the National Stadium from 17 to 19 May—by serving in the Executive Committee as its Treasurer. The Bible Society of Singapore was also commissioned to produce 70,000 copies of the New Testament in English and Chinese, which were distributed at the rallies to bless new believers.

Signing of MoU for Alliance of Guest Workers Outreach (AGWO)

On 31 May, the General Secretary was present at the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the Alliance of Guest Workers Outreach (AGWO), a new initiative of the Alliance of Indian Ministries (AIM) and Sow Care Limited, ministries of The Bible Society of Singapore. This new initiative will focus on holistic outreach to guest workers in Singapore.

IRO Remembrance Gathering for New Zealand Terror Attacks

On 3 April, the General Secretary attended the IRO Remembrance Gathering for the New Zealand Terror Attacks at Raffles Town Club. At the event, President Halimah Yacob gave a speech emphasising the importance of religious harmony in Singapore, and encouraged the various religious leaders to pray for the victims in New Zealand.

Visit by American Bible Society

From 8–12 April, the General Secretary hosted Jane Jelgerhuis and James Catford, former General Secretary of the British and Foreign Bible Society. They conducted training sessions on partnership development and discussed opportunities for partnerships in the future.

Launch of Steps of Unity—Jesus Walks the Difficult Road

On 12 April, the art exhibition, Steps of Unity—Jesus Walks the Difficult Road, was launched at Far East Plaza, with Bishop Terry Kee and Monsignor Philip Heng as the Guests of Honour. The exhibition was organised by The Bible Society of Singapore and arts@work. The event and venue were sponsored by Far East Organization and Far East Plaza respectively.

Our Place in the World High Tea Reception

On 17 April, the General Secretary attended the High Tea Reception for Our Place in the World at the Fullerton Hotel. The reception was held to conclude the fundraising efforts for the exhibition, and was sponsored by Far East Organization. The Bible Society of Singapore is one of the beneficiaries of this fundraising initiative.

ETHOS Conversation: Nurturing the Future Generation

On 20 March, the General Secretary attended the ETHOS Conversation: Nurturing the Future Generation held at Bible House. The panellists for the discussion were Mr Desmond Lee, Minister for Social and Family Development and Second Minister for National Development, and Rev Christopher Chia, Senior Pastor of Adam Road Presbyterian Church. Together, they discussed how the state and church could come together to address issues that the younger generation is facing today.

AAA Meeting in New Zealand

From 25 to 28 March, the General Secretary attended the annual UBS Asia Affinity Alliance (AAA) meeting in New Zealand. The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen the relationships between the Bible Societies in the Asia Pacific region, as well as to discuss opportunities for partnerships to further Bible Mission work in the region.

Our Place in the World Receptions

In February, the General Secretary attended the receptions for Our Place in the World, a fundraising photo exhibition by Speaker of Parliament, Tan Chuan-Jin. Ministers Mrs Josephine Teo and Mr Desmond Lee were the Guest of Honours for the receptions on 8 and 25 February respectively. Mrs Dorothy Chan, Executive Director of Far East Organization, was also present at the receptions. Far East Organization and Far East Plaza were the sponsors of the photo exhibition.

Meeting with CEO of Elevate Group

The General Secretary and Rev Dr Peter Poon had a meeting with Michael Griffin, CEO of ELAvate Group on 12 February to explore partnership opportunities. They discussed the possibility of offering John Maxwell Leadership Courses in the near future.

'Three-Self Patriotic Movement' Visit in China

From 21 to 26 February, the General Secretary facilitated trips to Shanghai, Nanjing and Beijing, led by Bishop Terry Kee to visit national and provincial leaders of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement in China.
